The Media Secretariat of the Arab Unity Party issued the following statement:
What is taking place in Sweida Governorate cannot be considered a passing incident or a marginal detail within Syria’s complex scene. Rather, it represents a systematic continuation of policies of killing and exclusion that target existence and identity. Today, these policies are striking our people among the Druze monotheists, within a bloody scheme that brings to mind the massacres of the coastal region and other dark chapters that bore the fingerprints of savage takfiri ideology.
In the face of this bitter reality, the Arab Unity Party raises its voice loudly against a suspicious international silence that can no longer be interpreted except as implicit complicity in a crime of extermination being committed against civilians—children, women, and the elderly—in Sweida, under the watchful eyes of the international community and its institutions that claim to defend human rights.
The party affirms that the removal of the terrorist designation from the organization “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” by the U.S. administration, despite its bloody and exclusionary record, constitutes an extremely dangerous indicator and raises serious questions about the true intentions regarding the future of diversity in Syria. Such decisions do not pave the way for peace; rather, they provide cover for terrorism and legitimize killing.
The Arab Unity Party warns against continued targeting of Sweida, stressing that it will not be an open arena for anyone. It also calls on its Druze monotheist أبناء (sons/people) to close ranks, to show no leniency in defending land and honor, to uphold unity and dignity, and to reject any blackmail or threats exercised by armed groups, foremost among them the gangs of Ahmad al-Sharaa.
The party concludes by reaffirming its stance of honor and solidarity with the people of Sweida, extending its sincerest condolences to the families of the martyrs, and emphasizing that defending dignity is a right that cannot be relinquished, and that whatever is being plotted for Sweida will not pass.
